what is the logos method

Welcome to The Logos Method, where we harness the power of sound, reiki and breath to help you regulate your nervous system and discover profound inner peace. From this state of being, the possibilities are endless.

SOUND HEALING:

Our Sound Bath is designed to be a therapeutic experience. Our sessions are not focused on being musical, they are designed to help you experience deep meditation and recalibrate your nervous system. For those who have a hard time quieting the mind, this is the perfect modality to help you discover a peaceful mind. Using sound to reach a mediative state is like taking the elevator vs the stairs. For those who already meditate, The Logos Method can take you to deeper states of consciousness.

The healing power of sound can help you drop into being fully present in each moment, cultivating a greater connection to the world around you. There is so much freedom when we fully engage and focused on what is happening in the here and now, without being distracted by thoughts of the past or concerns about the future. Being in the thinnest slice of now, assists you to sharpen your intuition, opening you to listen, speak and act from your heart. The transformative nature of our sound therapy opens doors to deep healing, reduced anxiety, creative insights, awakening a wellspring of inspiration and innovation within you.

We invite you to indulge in the profound benefits of our Logos Sound Therapy, where you can recalibrate your nervous system, enhance your presence, sharpen your intuition, and unlock the gateway to boundless creative expression. Experience the transformative journey that awaits as you immerse yourself in the therapeutic soundscape and discover the profound shifts that ripple through your entire being.

BREATH WORK:

Many individuals often overlook the significance of our breath, taking it for granted despite its vital role in sustaining life. At The Logos Method, we prioritize breath awareness as an essential practice. Drawing from the wisdom of the Butyeko Method and other lineages, our primary objective is to empower you to incorporate breath as a medicinal tool in your daily life. By cultivating breath awareness, we balance our blood chemistry (nitric oxide and carbon dioxide), directing its nourishing flow to our vital organs—akin to fueling your engine with premium gas. This simple yet powerful practice of breath awareness offers numerous benefits, including anxiety reduction, minimize inflammation, enhanced focus, and an amplified sense of presence in each passing moment. Consider incorporating breath awareness into your self-care routine and unlock its transformative potential.

REIKI and SOUND:

When I do a Sound Bath I work with energy as well. The combination of Reiki and Sound Baths creates a powerful synergy that enhances the healing experience on multiple levels. Reiki, a Japanese energy healing technique, works with the body's subtle energy to restore balance and promote wellness. Sound Baths, on the other hand, utilize the therapeutic vibrations of sound to induce deep relaxation and harmonize the body and mind. Together, Reiki and Sound Baths amplify the healing potential, with sound facilitating the release of energetic blockages and Reiki channeling vital life force energy to support the body's natural healing processes. This combination offers a holistic and profound healing experience, promoting physical, emotional, and energetic well-being.

Several studies have explored the effects of sound therapy, including repetitive sound vibrations, on stress and anxiety levels. A study published in the Journal of Music Therapy in 2001 found that sound-based relaxation techniques significantly reduced anxiety levels in participants.

Sound therapy may have physiological effects on the body. A study published in the journal Explore in 2016 showed that sound healing interventions, including repetitive sounds, had positive effects on heart rate variability, suggesting a potential impact on the autonomic nervous system and stress response.

Repetitive sounds, such as those produced during sound baths, have the potential to influence brainwave patterns. A study published in the journal BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2006 found that specific rhythmic sound frequencies could entrain brainwave activity, leading to altered states of consciousness and relaxation.

"If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies." - Dr Mitchell Gaynor

what people are saying about logos

When I arrived in the US, I was in a dark place. I had faced a lot of traumatic experiences in my home country. Fear consumed me; I was scared of phone calls, haunted by nightmares, and ridden with depression and anxiety. I’m so glad I found The Logos Method, after a few weekly sessions , I felt a transformation. I found myself dancing in the kitchen while cooking and humming along to music while walking to school. Sound bathing released my anxiety, stress, and even helped me cope with my grief. Mental health is vital to all of us, and I believe that sound bathing should be a part of medical school teachings and practiced every day.
— U. John
Having worked with Cheryl for over two decades, there is no doubt she is a talented healer. Her Sound Baths are a beautiful and rare blend of therapy and spiritual experience. Sounds Baths are Cheryl’s ministry and the gift of healing she offers needs to be shared.
— Rev. Dr. Penny Grace Nixon
“I’ve had two sessions with Cheryl - one with sound and group breathwork, and the other a private sound bath. I’m not overstating by saying that both were transformative. I’ve been a musician all my life, and have been so fortunate to experience the transcendent power of music fairly often. But Cheryl’s work is a whole new beast at a high level that provided me with healing and a deep meditative journey. Everyone should aim to make these sessions a regular practice. If I still lived in Bay Area, I would come more often.”
— Joe M.
A sound bath is sublime. It requires zero effort to get maximum benefit. Just lie down or sit and let the sound flow in and around you. My body relaxed and my thoughts quieted within the first 5 minutes, and by the end, I felt a deep peace. It filled my inner reservoir and I was able to draw on this peace for days after.
— Annlee
I’ve been attending repetitive sound baths for some time now, and I can’t emphasize enough the positive impact they have had on my well-being. The consistent vibrations and harmonies create a space where I can release energy blocks, find emotional healing, and tap into my creativity.
— John
I had the best night sleep after my session. My back pain is gone and i feel like i’m floating thru my day. I can’t wait to go back.
— Carla
Recently I was able to participate in The Logos Method workshop. I’ve known Chuck for many years and have watched her progress through many caring and loving disciplines. What she offers now is vibrant and seems to be a culmination of all of them. Breath work is not new, but creating the space, comfort and security to be able to explore with a feeling of complete support is not always what we find. Chuck brings her heart to this work, and it makes all the difference. Breathing and integrating with sacred sounds is a vortex of healing and I thank her for bringing them together. Do it. You’ll find it worthwhile.
— harry
Chuck has a natural talent for creating a deeply relaxing and healing space using sound. She is tremendously intuitive and I left her session feeling fully rested and at ease. It is as if I took a mini vacation, the benefits of which have endured long after the session.
— Cliff
I have come in and out of conscious relationship with my breath throughout my life, often forgetting how powerful it can be as a healing tool. During my Logos session with Cheryl, all of that innate knowledge resurfaced as I worked to bring healing throughout my body with my breath. I felt lighter and so much more grounded after the work.

Cheryl’s use of sound and the crystal bowls really helped hit the “sweet spot” for me on a cellular level. Thank you for reminding me that the power to heal my mind and body are within the simple movement of focusing on my breath.
— Gloria
Sound therapy opens the door to internal reawakening and supported my process of letting go. Allowing me to take a break from: Idle thoughts, worries, endless to do lists, planning, and responsibilities. And enjoy the moment!
— Robin
I have never been happier to learn of a new method of not only self-care but soul-care. As a Pastor, I normally get a massage monthly to manage my stress level but have decided to switch to bimonthly sound baths. Chuck’s sound bath is like a deep tissue massage but from the inside out! The effects last much longer and my entire nervous system is recalibrated. Try it, I’m confident you’ll love it and make it part of your personal care regimen as well.

prenatal and postnatal sound therapy

Prenatal sound baths have gained popularity as a soothing and therapeutic practice for expectant mothers. A prenatal sound bath is a form of sound therapy where gentle and harmonic sounds are used to create a calming and nurturing environment for both the mother and the unborn baby.

The sounds produced by the Logos Method during a prenatal sound therapy session are tested and carefully selected to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and create a sense of harmony. The vibrations and resonances generated by these instruments can be felt deeply within the body, creating a gentle internal massage-like effect. This experience is not only enjoyable but also has potential benefits for both the mother and the developing baby.

For the expectant mother, prenatal sound baths can help alleviate anxiety, promote better sleep, and provide a sense of emotional balance. The calming sounds can help reduce the levels of stress hormones in the body, allowing the mother to unwind and connect with her baby on a deeper level. It can also serve as a meditative practice, allowing mothers to focus on their breath and be fully present in the moment, fostering a sense of mindfulness and relaxation.

Additionally, the vibrations created during a prenatal sound bath can have a soothing effect on the baby in the womb. Research suggests that babies can hear and respond to external sounds as early as the second trimester. The gentle sounds and vibrations can stimulate the baby's developing auditory system, creating a soothing and comforting environment. This can potentially enhance the baby's overall well-being, encourage healthy growth, and strengthen the bond between mother and child.

Prenatal sound baths are typically conducted in a peaceful and comfortable setting. Expectant mothers are encouraged to find a comfortable position, and to simply allow the sounds to wash over them and their baby.

It is important to note that prenatal sound baths are generally considered safe for most pregnant women. However, it is always advisable to consult with a healthcare provider before participating in any new wellness practice during pregnancy. With proper guidance and supervision, prenatal sound baths can provide a deeply calming and nurturing experience, promoting a positive and peaceful prenatal journey for both mother and baby.

Pregnant women participated in a 12-week Sound Bath program reported significant reductions in stress and anxiety, as well as improved sleep quality. Additionally, the women reported feeling more relaxed and connected to their babies after participating in the program.
— The Journal of Music Therapy
Sound Baths can help to reduce pain during labor. The study found that women who listened to sound baths during labor had lower pain scores and shorter labors than women who did not listen to sound baths.
— Journal Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice
Cheryl is fantastic! Our meeting was truly meaningful to me as I was 37 wks pregnant and told I needed to be induced. Cheryl has such a peaceful energy. She was kind enough to fit in a session with me and my unborn son a few days before he was born! She was able to guide me with my thoughts and her powerful use of a sound therapy! Then I was so appreciative that my son and I were able to do a skin to skin sound bath one week after he was born. It was such a powerful experience to have the opportunity to do with my newborn child! I could feel his energy changing during the session through his breathing! If you have the opportunity to experience a sound bath with Cheryl jump all over it! I can’t wait to continue my journey with her and my son!
— Rhoda,mother
My experience of the sound therapy Cheryl provided me was one of deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness that allowed me to feel that my being was safe and comfortable and could go completely quiet, while simultaneously being immersed in an environment that felt rich and fluid. As a mother, grandmother and doula, I imagine such an opportunity could be a wonderful way for parent and child to co-experience something interesting and nourishing. Cheryl’s studio is peaceful, warm and bright. She is a wonderful and skillful presence and the sound bath she produces is like no other aural experience I’ve had.
